Keys

Key 1

An image of a trophy with stones in it was given at the start.

Adjusting the image's brightness settings reveals alien glyphs.

This translation hinted at the usage of a text editor. Players could find the next step by opening the starting image in a text editor like Notepad and seeing this:

"Six powerful stones have been stolen, but a seventh remains hidden. You must journey across space, time, and alternate realities to discover the stone’s identity and location. Begin your search here: www.unturnnostone.com/theseventh Godspeed, Theorist."

Going to the website, there is an image of the gate and the stone, with alien glyphs underneath it.

Clicking on the image on the website leads players to another image explaining to go to "alternaterealities".

Players had to replace "spaceandtime" in the URL with "alternaterealities", therefore leading to https://www.unturnnostone.com/theseventh/alternaterealities.html.

The next image relates to dimensions of some kind.

In this case, dimensions means the dimensions of this image. By downloading the image and looking at its dimensions, players can find the image is 444 x 333. These numbers multiplied is 147852, so the next link is https://www.unturnnostone.com/theseventh/147852.htm.

The next image reveals the identity of the stone and the first key, enots yroeht eht.

Key 2

An image of the theory stone and a YouTube link is given to start off this key.

Going to the YouTube link, it's a video of a mashup between the two series of Rick and Morty and Don't Hug Me I'm Scared. There is a lot to unpack in the video, so this will cover everything there is.

First thing are the alien glyphs that occur throughout this video. These glyphs are always accompanied by the Chaos Theory logo (they indicate that there's a glyph around somewhere). A list of where they are can be found here, and the glyphs spell out "numbers".

This references to a specific point of the video, namely 0:40. On the left of that shot, there is a calendar called "NUMBERS!" filled with random letters.

If players didn't know that this was an example of a Caesar cipher encryption, the QR code that appears for a brief moment at 1:06 could lead players to the Wikipedia page of this cipher when scanned.

Players could use an online resource to decode this with a 19-letter shift (hinted at by the calendar in the back, displaying June 19), which turns out to be "bit.ly/timeforftarg".

Going to this webpage reveals a clock cipher, one for hours and one for minutes.

Due to the alien glyph translations, the red flashes of the hour and minute hands in the video can be decoded using this image.

This list shows all the times red flashes occur during the video. When the decoded letters are concatenated, it reveals the key of how did i get herw (yes, the typo is intentional, it's confirmed by the TV screen at 1:04).

Key 3

The beginning of this key is a YouTube video called "How did you get here?" The main thing to notice in this video is the end on Morty's shirt, which gives the objective of alien + binary + clock.

Starting with the alien glyphs, there is one shot in this video that contains them. It is this frame at 0:08.

The binary sequences can be found in the Family Feud scene, specifically 0:41-0:43. Here is a list of the translations, which concatenates to "thetheorystone.com/thepa".

Finally, the clock translations come from the Rubik's Cube commerical starting at 0:54. Here is a list of the translations (using the same clock cipher) (encoding error noted), which concatenates to "thway".

Concatenating all three groups gives www.thetheorystone.com/thepathway.

For the final part of Key 3, players have to fill in the blanks according to the color coding shown in the image. The boxed letters are then concatenated to reveal the key and next link. In this case, the words are the places of the stone. The relevant images and the full names are below.

Concatenating the boxed letters gives lasernavel as the third key, and the next link of www.thetheorystone.com/lasernavel.

Key 4

The above link takes players to a download link for a .psd file of an unfinished QR code.

The other two layers had to be found and combined in order to form the whole QR code.

There's also a YouTube video titled "Assemble!" that marks the start of Key 4. The main thing to note for now is the ending sequence of finding the names of the Vindicators and taking letters out of their names.

By looking up the sufficient resources, players found out that theirs names were (from left to right): Vance Maximus, Alan Rails, Supernova, Crocubot, and Million Ants. Taking the letters that are specified in the image, players get "iluvrobots". Following the instructions that come up a couple of frames later:

The link thetheorystone.com/iluvrobots is found.

Similar to the last key, players must fill in the blanks based on locations of the stones and retrieve the boxed letters.

The relevant images and the full names are below.

Concatenating the boxed letters gives vaderisnice as the fourth key, and the next link of www.thetheorystone.com/vaderisnice.

Key 5

The above link takes players to a download link for another unfinished QR code, so that it can be merged with the first.

In order to find the final layer, players must view the source code of the vaderisnice link. By doing so, this appears at the bottom:

<<#-- END LINUX.WTH CODE SCRIPT.DLL SNIPPET THING --#>>

(6C6F6C7A translates to "lolz")

The ciphertext in the code is another example of a Caesar cipher. Shifting it forward 21 letters (hinted at by the 21-second warning), it decodes to:

"So anyway there we were, designing gate 3 of the ARG and we were like, do we really want to create another video with more spectrogram thingies and alien glyphy thingies and look-at-this-frame-by-frame mechanics? Why not give them something really annoying like a caesar cipher? We totally could have gone vigenere or enigma on you but did you really want to visit www dot thetheorystone dot com slash areyoulovinityet?"

Going to www.thetheorystone.com/areyoulovinityet reveals the final layer of the QR code.

This scans to http://l.ead.me/bb3qGd, bringing players to "An Inter-dimensional Hologram".

Players can view the hologram from any angle and move it around. However, there are alien glyphs hidden inside the hologram, so one must zoom in inside the stone and read the alien glyphs that circle the top. When translated, it reads "bit.ly/imlovinit777".

This final video reveals the location of the last theory stone: McDonald's Happy Meal.

The description of the video makes sure to note that the password is case-and-apostrophe sensitive. Keep that in mind when typing the final password!
